Kauri Gifts - hand crafted wooden bowls
Kauri Gifts are uniquely handcrafted kauri bowls and platters formed from pieces of the special ancient wood of the New Zealand kauri tree, which is native to the northern region of New Zealand. All of the Kauri we work with is reclaimed timber; most of this being ancient ‘swamp kauri’ that has been lying buried in Northland’s swamplands for thousands of years. A smaller proportion of the wood we use is ‘left-over’ kauri from the logging days of the 1800’s and early 1900’s, discarded in the logging process, recovered from logging sites in recent years.
We are a husband and wife team, with Neville woodturning and Emma decorating the kauri bowls and platters with paua shell, fern and other ‘kiwiana’. These special pieces of New Zealand wooden art unique gifts, or heirlooms that you may want to pass on to future generations. You might even want to present them as wedding or corporate gifts.
